The OBX in and out

Was not a good surf week in the OBX. Well at least not where we stayed this year. It has been nothing but shore break. After almost a week of waiting for a better swell and waves I gave up and dropped into a few right up on the beach. Most of them were about like this with maybe a ride or two a little longer. At least I wasn't shut out but wish there had been better surf because the water was pretty nice. Win some lose some.

Whales In the Line Up

Saw 4 or more whales on dawn patrol at Montera. Only managed to get this short video of one or two before suiting up. We paddled out to just about where they were but we didn't see any while we were surfing. When we got out we saw a few about 1/4 mile to the south.

Longboard? If it's electric I'm in!

Got an electric skateboard. Only down side is that it's a longboard. I don't really know how to skate a longboard. Here you can see me giving it a go. Video shot by a friend at work, Navjit Gill. Thanks Gill!

O.B. 2013-01-20

Was watching the Mavericks 2012/13 surf contest online and it was a bit boring. Lots of 20min lulls and such and the waves though big seemed a bit mush. I took a look out the back window at O.B. and it was not at all mushy or boring. So I climbed up on the roof and shot some video for about 30-40min and here is what I got.
